How to Scale in AutoCAD

Assigning a scale to our plan is one of the most important actions when we are presenting a construction plan. This scale can be applied regardless of the View we are currently handling. There are many scales that our plan can take, from 1: 100 to 1: 5000.
The first thing is to learn the formula to be able to carry this out:
Z + ENTER + S + ENTER + 1000 / [OUR SCALE] + XP + ENTER
For example, if we want to have a scale of 1: 100
Z + ENTER + S + ENTER + 1000 / 100XP + ENTER
The display would show as follows:
Likewise, we can scale our plan by simply programming it. To do this, we just have to do the following:
1) Go to VIEW and double click on it.
2) Display the icon of the Scales found in viewport and choose one of the scales already predetermined. Alternatively you can select CUSTOM to start with a new scale.
3) To scale from scratch, just press the ADD button.
4) Next, you must fill in the following information:
– The name you will assign to the scale.
– Remember that in paper units, you must write one thousand (1000). This is because this works on a millimeter basis.
– Once the above is done, place the scale you will use for your project in Drawing units.
5) You only need to click OK. While activating the view with a double left click, the scale you just created will be assigned by simply displaying the scale bar.
Useful Commands when scaling
There are a number of commands that can save you a lot of time. These commands solve any issue that would usually take you a few hours to solve. Executing them takes just over a few seconds. This is an extensive list of the most important commands.
First you must press CTRL + 9 to open the command bar.
AA: You can calculate the perimeter, as well as the area of any object you are working with, or even a surface that you have selected. This is done by vertex by vertex. Remember to consider the metric units you defined in settings.
BACKGROUND: Allows you to select a background image that will appear in your work area. Some of the backgrounds include a single color (Solid), ugradual (Gradient) or an image that you already have saved on your computer (Image).
BMPOUT: After selecting objects, surfaces or an area, with this command you can generate a bitmap in the .bmp format.
BURST: Explode any block or object of your choice. This without having to change its attributes after having exploded it.
CHSPACE: transfer what is drawn in Paper Space to Model Space. We will have to select the objects that we want to be drawn in Model Space. You will place them as we are seeing in Paper Space, that is, it depends on the scale of the window.
DATAEXTRACTION: With this you can generate metric computations
ID: Shows the coordinates of a point on the worksheet.
MOVE 0,0,0 / FLATTEN: You place your drawing at level + 0,00.
PURGE: Allows you to remove objects that you are not using at that time.
RIBBON: Turn on the ribbon bar.
QDIM: This dimension any geometric shape you are working on.
QSELECT: Using it you can select elements that have similar or different properties.
SKETCH: Create a series of freehand drawings.
TIME: Displays a statistical chart of a file with which you have worked.
U: It is the same as the classic Ctrl + Z, undoing the most recent action you have executed.
VPORTS: Allows you to manage AutoCad windows when using 2D and 3D models.
XLINE: Create an infinite line.
